You can help us preserve the past for the future.   CCHPS is an all-volunteer organization, and what we accomplish together we accomplish because people like you share their unique talents and gifts.  Just a couple of hours every couple of months will make a big difference to everyone with connections to Charlevoix County.

We need:

Room mother/fathers – people who would be willing to bring cookies or other snacks to our public events and set up coffee, tea, and punch.  Or people who are good at coordinating a team of people to do it.

A fundraiser – someone who has the enthusiasm and people skills to inspire passion in others and help us grow the organization.

Oral historians – people who enjoy talking to our county’s elder citizens, and who will help us capture their stories for the future.

Graphic artists – someone who can use a computer to create fliers and posters to advertise our special events.

History helpers – people who are willing to work on our projects, transcribing material, sorting, filing, researching, scanning photos and records, …

Event helpers – people who like planning public events, especially the StoryCorps Oral History and Genealogy Fair, which will take place in August of 2011.

And anything else you can think of!

To volunteer, send us an email: or call and leave a message with your name, phone number, and what you think you’d like to do: 231-580-8214.
