Jane Prebble

Jane was born in Charlevoix, and has lived her entire life here. She is married and the mother of four adult children, who live in various locations around the United States. With a life-long interest in history, her four children grown, and armed with a computer, Jane began to research her ancestors. She found that she had two great great grandfathers who fought in the Civil War, both in regiments from New Hampshire, and both buried in Charlevoix County. And she found a copy of a deed that conveyed the land for what is today the Grandvue Medical Care Facility, from her great great grandfather to the Charlevoix County Superintendents of the Poor in 1899. Because she understands the value of preserving her heritage, she joined CCHPS. Jane owned and operated a successful Antique and Collectible business for 25 years. Her husband, Bob, was a banker for 43 years so Jane has an advisor at hand if she requires one in her role as Treasurer.

He presently is a business consultant to automobile dealerships throughout the United States. Gerald Hummel

Jerry is a retired Professional Civil Engineer, who served 27 years as a City Engineer and Director of Public Works.  His interest in Charlevoix County stems mainly from the oral history of his grandmother, Annie Bacot, who came to Hayes Township with her family on a lumber schooner in 1876, when she was six years old.  His research into his family’s history and homestead led to his participation in the Undine project, and his ongoing involvement in our “digitization” project.  Jerry and his wife, Margaret, live in the village of Bellaire.
